What are the first steps to breaking in my brand-new generator?
The break-in period will last for about 25 hours. DO NOT exceed 75% of the generator's rated capacity during this time. Change the engine oil after, and once you have started on the normal operating conditions, make sure to follow it with subsequent maintenance according to the schedule & instructions in the MAINTENANCE section. Refer to a step-by-step process in breaking in your new generator.

How should I clean my generator?
Cleaning and Adjusting Spark Plug (Should be done every 3 months or 50 hours)
1. Remove the spark plug.
2. Check for discoloration and remove the carbon.
3. Check the spark plug type and gap.
4. Install the spark plug.
Air Filter (every 3 months or 50 hours)
1. Remove the cover.
2. Remove the air filter cover and element.
3. Wash the element in solvent and dry.
4. Oil the element and squeeze out excess oil. The element should be wet but not dripping.
5. Insert the element into the air filter.
6. Install the cover.
Fuel Tank Filter (every 6 months or 100 hours)
1. Remove the fuel tank cap and filter.
2. Clean the filter with solvent. Check for damage & replace if necessary.
3. Wipe the filter and insert it.
